Transitioning to Elite Wet Cat Food
Moving your cat to a new diet should be a patient process to respect their digestive sensitivity. At Pufpet, we recommend a transition period of 7 to 10 days. Begin by introducing Elite at roughly 10-15% of their total meal on the first day. Slowly increase this to 25% over the next day or two, eventually reaching a 50-50 blend. Once your cat is comfortable with the half-and-half mix for a couple of days, move to 75% Elite and 25% of the old food. After another day or two of this ratio, you can safely serve a 100% Elite meal.
Daily Feeding Instructions
-
Adult Cats: 60-65 grams per serving.
-
Kittens: 30-35 grams per serving.
-
Frequency: This can be served two to three times per day.
-
Measurement Tip: A full tablespoon is approximately 15-20 grams. Therefore, adults usually require 3-5 tablespoons, while kittens need 2-3 tablespoons.
Storage and Safety
Because Pufpet Elite is a high-quality wet food, proper storage is vital to prevent spoilage. Once a container is opened, it must be sealed tightly and kept in the refrigerator, ideally consumed within 2-3 days.
The product has a total shelf life of 4 to 6 months. To maintain its integrity, store the unopened containers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Please inspect the packaging upon arrival; do not feed your pet if the seal is compromised or if the food appears spoiled. Always ensure your pet is eating fresh, unexpired food for their safety and health.
